The standard features of these duplex softeners include flow controllers to limit backwash flow, 30-125 psi operating pressure, 35-100 degree operating temperature, self adjusting backwash controllers, no hard water bypass and an automatic motorized piston control. The advantage that a duplex system has over the single system is its ability to regenerate up to six times a day.

Water softeners require little maintenance and last a good many years. All that is required to ensure the smooth running of an industrial water softener system is to add the required salts at regular intervals. These salts are normally added during the regeneration of the softener directly into the reservoir. More salt is needed to be added if a softener is regenerated often.
